    • EPDM is a seamless surface formed with a 2 layer system consisting of a wear layer of EPDM and a cushion layer of SBR that provides the shock absorption. After 2000 square feet, there will need to be a seam.
    • The materials are bound together with a glue, or binder, and the product is poured and troweled in place like concrete
    • Can be installed on crushed stone, concrete, or asphalt
    • Available in a variety of patterns and colors
    • Our PIP is fall rated up to 12’
    • Maintenance includes periodic cleaning or blowing off of large debris
    • Budget an additional $1.25 / sq ft for reapplication of the binding agent (reseal) to the wear cap to extend the life and warranty of the product
    • Prices range between $10 – $14 / square foot installed
    • Warranty is 5 years on the installed product, however, many installs are over a decade

  • Engineered Wood Fiber Mulch

    Low Cost, Low Maintenance, Safe & Accessible

    Most popular loose-fill surfacing option

    • Consists of hardwood blends that have been cut to a fibrous consistency of randomly sized pieces no greater than 2” in length
    • Our EWF is playground safe and rated for fall heights up to 8’
    • Assuming proper drainage, maintenance and installation, it is considered an accessible playground surface
    • Maintenance includes raking and cleaning of any debris that can be buried below the surface
    • Installed to a compacted depth of 9” (usually starting with an installed depth of 12”), EWF requires a border system to maintain proper depth throughout the playground area
    • Price range: $1.65 – $2.50/ sf installed
    • Budget every 2 years for additional replenishment of 2-3” to top off due to decomposition
    • No warranty is provided for EWF
    • Given its low cost, low maintenance, safe and accessible performance, it’s the most popular option for playground surfacing in the southeast

    • Single layer system of loose rubber mulch bonded together with a urethane binder
    • Product is poured and troweled like concrete to a specific thickness
    • Can be installed on crushed stone, concrete, asphalt or other compacted surface
    • Available in natural colors and blends with the natural environment
    • Our PIP is fall rated up to 12’
    • Maintenance includes periodic cleaning or blowing off of large debris
    • Budget an additional $1.25 / sq ft for the reapplication of the binding agent (reseal) to the wear cap to extend the life and warranty of the product
    • Prices range between $8 -$13 / square foot installed
    • Our warranty is 3 years on the installed product, however, many installations have been in place for a decade

    Most durable unitary surfacing option

    • Our Turf Systems are playground safe and rated for fall heights up to 8’
    • Synthetic Grass Systems are made of artificial grass blades attached to a backing, and in-filled with our specialty sand, which keeps the blades upright and looking more natural
    • Water passes through the turf quickly, which is typically installed over a 4” compacted stone base, allowing your kids to get back on the playground even after heavy rains
    • Artificial Turf is easy to clean and largely requires just the removal of large debris from the surface
    • Plan for an annual inspection to see if your turf is matting down, and we can brush back the pile and add more in-fill to keep your surface looking natural and performing for years
    • Prices range between $7 – $13 / square foot installed
    • Our warranty is 10 years
